About Me

Hi. I'm Amanda La. I am happy to say that I am a first-geneneration college graduate. I am passionate about technology and using it to make improvements, whether it be through spread of data and information or with software usability. I like to create usable and attractive interfaces through development and testing.

I am based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, and am melting away in the heat annually. In my free time I like to bake, read, garden, and volunteer.

Smart Placement is a web application I made with a team for the School of Social Work at University of Texas - Arlington. We made it to streamline the matchmaking process of students with an agency. Unfortunately I am not allowed to share the code, but I have written thorough documentation you can peruse.

Find My Fish was a machine learning Android application I made with a small team. It can identify the genus of aquatic animals. from a photo taken or uploaded by the user, and it will save the information for the user in their collection.

Joyota Rentals was a car rental database project I made with a teammate. I created the database with SQL and the GUI with Python. It has many functions, such as entering people/vehicles and their information, checking if a car is available, enter in a new rental, and more. I used SQLite3 for running this project.
